
Numerical Modelling
At CNR-ISMAR, our expertise encompasses the development and application of numerical models tailored to physical oceanography, biogeochemistry, and wave dynamics. We engage in the study of coupled ocean-atmosphere flows and the assimilation of oceanographic data, utilizing optimal combinations of both in situ and remote sensing observations, including Lagrangian methodologies.
Our activities also involve the development and implementation of prototype operational modeling frameworks designed to study physical and biogeochemical processes within the land-sea continuum. These frameworks are essential for addressing emerging challenges such as anthropogenic impacts, extreme events, and climate change.
