Venice, 31 January 2025 – Visits to the Biodiversity Gateway https://www.biodiversitygateway.it/ at CNR-ISMAR (Institute of Marine Sciences of the National Research Council) by participants of the Winter School in Interdisciplinary Biodiversity, organised by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, have recently taken place. This initiative aims to provide definitions and tools for understanding and managing the different components of biodiversity, observed from interdisciplinary perspectives that include biology, climatology, social sciences and economics.
During the visits, students had the opportunity to explore the history of the Arsenal, the CNR-ISMAR facilities, and to interact with researchers, exploring topics related to marine biodiversity and research methodologies applied in the study of aquatic ecosystems. These practical experiences enriched the Winter School training course, offering a concrete vision of the challenges and opportunities in biodiversity conservation.
This initiative, promoted by the National Biodiversity Future Centre (NBFC), represents an important interdisciplinary training opportunity for young researchers and students interested in biodiversity issues and its conservation.
