Research, innovation and participation to build value and protect biodiversity
Milan, May 19, 2025 – The Biodiversity Gateway of the National Biodiversity Future Center (NBFC), funded by Next Generation Eu funds and coordinated by the Institute of Marine Sciences (CNR-ISMAR), is participating in the National Biodiversity Forum 2025 “Generating Value with Biodiversity,” being held in Milan from May 19 to 22. This event sponsored by NBFC, as part of Biodiversity Week, is a relevant opportunity for national scientific discussion on biodiversity.
The Forum, with more than 750 participants and 330 contributions presented, focuses on the value generated by scientific results and innovation processes developed on biodiversity issues. The goal is to highlight the impacts generated in terms of knowledge, tools, training and innovation, identifying the most effective tools to generate and measure the value produced and define new strategies for the future.
The Biodiversity Gateway integrates a national network of physical infrastructure with advanced digital technologies to provide open, inclusive and participatory access to biodiversity assets for all.
The Forum will present the various pilot activities implemented within the Gateway locations and territorial nodes and the digital portal that represent the starting point for the transformation process towards a shared and active biodiversity culture. Ranging from innovative and interdisciplinary training paths for schools, to art and cinema, capable of triggering a multiplier “domino effect,” spreading knowledge and good practices that propagate in time and space: a ripple effect capable of progressively involving the world of research, schools, institutions and citizenship.
Presentations will take place as part of – Session VI: The Biodiversity Gateway – on May 2025 beginning at 2 p.m.
