Paleoproterozoic and Cenozoic (Tertiary-Quaternary) magmatism in Senegal

Prof. Diomaye Yatte, a lecturer at the University of Dakar, is currently a guest of the SCVSA Department, Earth Sciences Plexus of the University of Parma as he is on a MAECI-funded scholarship to carry out a 1-month study period on the volcanites of east-central Senegal, in collaboration with Prof. Teresa Trua.
On behalf of the Senegalese scientific community that he represents, Prof. Yatte is interested in establishing scientific collaborations in various areas of geology, hence the invitation to give a short seminar (duration about 30 minutes) at our office. This opportunity also allows him to get in touch with experts working in the field of marine geology.
The seminar will show in a general way the geological aspects associated with the magmatic activity that has affected west-central Senegal over time.
