PNRR
The National Recovery and Resilience Plan, better known in Italy as PNRR and as “Italia Domani”, is a plan aiming to contribute the achievement of the European Union climatic, environmental, and energetic objectives and raise the European growth, investments, and reforms.
The Italian plan is composed by 16 components grouped in six missions reflecting the pillars forming the Recovery and Resilience Facility:
– Mission 1: digitalization, innovation, competitiveness, culture, and tourism
– Mission 2: green revolution and ecological transition
– Mission 3: Infrastructure for a sustainable mobility
– Mission 4: Education and research
– Mission 5: Cohesion and inclusion
– Mission 6: Health
The 4th mission is provided with 30,88 € billion and is related to education and research. It aims to fill the structural, quantitative, and qualitative lacks in educational services and favor access to universities by strengthening the orientation and recruitment tools. In addition, this mission foresees a significative reinforcement to the basic and applied research and new tools for stepping up the technological transfer and boosting potential growth.
The CNR-ISMAR is part of 6 projects in 3 different investments axis, all under the component M4C2, “From research to enterprise”, with resources of 11,44 € billion within Mission 4:
- National Centre for HPC, Big Data and Quantum Computing – HPC and National Biodiversity Future Center – NBFC under Investment 1.4 – Enhancement of research structures and creation of “national champion” of research and development on Key Enabling Technologies;
- Ecosystem for sustainable transition in Emilia-Romagna and Robotics and AI for Socio-economic Empowerment – RAISE under Investment 1.5 – Creation and strengthening of “innovative ecosystem for sustainability”, building of “territorial leader of research and development”;
- Unlocking the Potential for Health and Food from the seas – EMBRC-UP and Italian Integrated Environmental Research Infrastructure System – ITINERIS under the Investment 3.1 – Fund for the realization of an integrated research and innovative infrastructures system.
