ISMAR will participate in the event “The Future is in the Ocean: the Hidden Face of the Planet,” presenting the activities “CITIZEN SCIENCE AND THE MARINE ENVIRONMENT,” one among the five topics addressed during the meeting, in Rome in the CNR Conference Room, Nov. 12, 2024.
On Nov. 12, the event The Future is in the ‘Ocean: the hidden face of the planet will be held in CNR Conference Hall, Rome, in the presence of CNR President Maria Chiara Carrozza, and CNR Dept. of Earth System Sciences and Technologies for the Environment Director Francesco Petracchini.
Among the various activities, emphasis will also be given to “CITIZEN SCIENCE AND MARINE ENVIRONMENT.” In this context, the winner of the first edition of the Citizen Science Marconi Library award, ISMAR researcher Silvia Merlino, will present the project “Little Big Scientists and Citizens Grow” by the Piaget – Majorana Comprehensive Institute,” the show that emerged from that project, and will moderate the session dedicated, precisely, to Citizen Science, not only as a means of obtaining data and information on the ‘marine environment, but also as a way to disseminate and communicate issues related to knowledge, conservation and sustainable use of our Ocean.
