Ended Biodiversity Gateway activities at the Museum of Natural History, with over 800 students.

Venice, 6 February 2025 – The educational activities of the project ‘Biodiversity in the Lagoon of Venice’, organised by the Biodiversity Gateway in collaboration with the Museum of Natural History and the Sestante cooperative of Venice, have successfully concluded. The project, coordinated by CNR-ISMAR as part of the National Biodiversity Future Centre (NBFC), involved forty primary and secondary school classes during the 2024/2025 school year.

After an initial phase of classroom talks, the students took part in workshops at the Natural History Museum, where they were able to observe samples of organisms at close quarters and explore topics related to biodiversity, alien species and the importance of environmental balances.

The educational program will continue in the spring with boat trips to the lagoon and workshops at the Biodiversity Portal, located at the CNR-ISMAR headquarters in Venice, offering students a complete and immersive experience in the study of lagoon biodiversity.
